Thank you to all who participated in making the 20th Annual 5K Run / Walk & Tot Trot fundraiser a success !
The 20th running of The Legal Runaround 5K Run / Walk and Tot Trot was held at John Howell Park in Virginia-Highlands on September 11 , 2021 . The Atlanta Police Department brought their cadets , the Special Weapons and Tactics Unit ( SWAT ) and , much to the children ’ s delight , two Mounted Police .
Atlanta Bar Foundation President-Elect and longtime race Chair Louis R . Cohan ( Cohan Law Group LLC ) commented on the importance of the day . “ On Saturday , September 11 , 2021 , more than 100 runners and 35 members of the Atlanta Police Department ’ s newest class of recruits , gathered in the crisp air of a beautiful sunny morning , much like the fateful morning 20 years earlier . After a moment of silence to recall the importance and solemnity of the day , all set out with smiles and cheers on their run , celebrating our freedom and the greatness of our country . The race raised $ 20,000 to fund scholarships for children of police officers who have been killed or disabled in the line of duty . Two brave local heroes were honored from the Atlanta Police Department . It was an honor to chair the event , and thank you to all who made it happen . God bless .”
