On October 16 , 2020 , the Bankruptcy Section hosted a virtual CLE Program on the topic of “ Student Loans : Negotiating and Litigating Discharge Issues .” The event was moderated by Gregory Taube ( Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough , LLP ), Vice-Chair / Chair-Elect of the Bankruptcy Section , and the panelists included Andres H . Sandoval ( United States Attorney ’ s Office , Northern District of Georgia ) and Nate Juster ( U . S . District Court , Law Clerk to the Honorable Amy Totenberg ). The event was attended by approximately 56 people . The panelists provided an in-depth discussion on student loans discharge issues .
On October 23 , 2020 , the Section hosted a virtual lunch-and-learn program , “ What ' s Your Preference ? Hot Topics , the Latest Law , and the Negotiations Dance , on Preferential Transfers .” The event was attended by about 65 individuals . The panelists were the Hon . James R . Sacca ( U . S . Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia ), Ashley Champion ( U . S . Bankruptcy Court , Law Clerk to Bankruptcy Judge Sage M . Sigler ), and Michael J . Bargar ( Arnall Golden Gregory , LLP ). Bryan Bates ( Parker , Hudson , Rainer & Dobbs , LLP ), a Member-at-Large of the Section , moderated the event . Bruce Z . Walker ( Cohen , Pollock , Merlin , Turner , PC ), Section Chair , formed the program and helped present .

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic , the Estate Planning & Probate (“ EP & P ”) Section continues to offer its members valuable continuing legal education opportunities through monthly CLE webinars focusing on topics ranging from probate law and estate planning , to law firm operation and charitable giving .
2 - On October 14 , 2020 , EP & P Section members welcomed David A . Handler ( Kirkland & Ellis , LLP ), who presented : “ From Here to Eternity : Designing Trusts for the Long Haul .” Handler covered all the basics of trust drafting , then delved into the use of more advanced provisions designed to ease trust administration and deal with problematic fiduciaries or beneficiaries .
