Elf: PAULA J. FREDERICK
I was an elf from the very beginning! I worked my way up to Head Elf, and
served it proudly. I wanted to be an elf because it seemed like a fun and easy
way to share the holiday spirit with kids who might not get enough of it.
ELF TALE:
Santa Henry Walker and I worked the Christmas Party at the old
Juvenile Court for several years in a row. The “children” were juvenile offenders
and after a few tries, Santa finally learned to stop asking them whether they
had been good boys…when asked what they wanted for Christmas, they just
wanted to be released from confinement. They were grateful for the gifts and
the attention, and got a real kick out of learning that Santa was a lawyer. I
would still be Elving to this day, but after lifting a couple of hundred kids onto
and off of Santa’s lap I realized my back couldn’t take it any more!

I've been Elving since the late nineties and have had fabulous experiences
over the years.
ELF TALE:
One of my memorable times was when Gary Spencer was
Santa and we had a project off of MLK and the Buffalo Soldiers motorcycle
group partnered with us for the day. Also I love going to Golden Living
and helping our older senior citizens celebrate the holidays. I'm looking
forward to making more memories in 2019!
