T
he Truancy Intervention Project Georgia recently
hosted its Fall CLE training seminar in partnership
with the Atlanta Bar Association and welcomed
several new volunteers to its ranks. New volunteers Leigh
Creighton Bond, Shauna Carmichael, Brittany Carter,
Jordan Webber Edwards, Joyce Klemmer, Kaytie Tobias,
and Jackie Tyo attended the October 15, 2015 training at
the State Bar of Georgia and are now able to serve as TIP
advocates in school or court based cases.
Thank you to TIP’s current volunteers Erica Harrison of Alston
& Bird LLP and Bill Fletcher of Gibson, Deal and Fletcher,
P.C., who participated in the training as guest panelists and
to Michelle Hession, school social worker with Fulton County
Schools, who also shared her knowledge and experience with
TIP’s newest volunteers.
TIP would also like to thank Sutherland for its generous
donation of time and training materials as well as the Litigation
Section of the Atlanta Bar Association for their sponsorship
and support.
We are delighted to welcome our new TIP volunteers
and extend special thanks to all of TIP’s volunteers and
supporters throughout Atlanta’s legal community. If you
would like more information on volunteering with the Truancy
Intervention Project Georgia, please contact Adrian Wright at

$150 Delta gift card. As a result, TIP saw a 16% increase
in volunteer participants, but more importantly, we were
able to gather more needed information for improving the
program.
The winner of this inaugural raffle was Lauren Milsteen, a
project attorney at King & Spalding LLP. A graduate of the
University of Pittsburgh Law School, Lauren has been a TIP
volunteer since October 2014 and has worked on numerous
