J.D. Humphries III
his year, the Atlanta Legal Aid Society is honored
to present the following awards to two outstanding
attorneys dedicated to ensuring that the mission
of Atlanta Legal Aid is continually fulfilled: the Randall L.
Hughes Lifetime Commitment to Legal Services Award
to J.D. Humphries III of Stites & Harbison PLLC and the
Volunteer of the Year Award to Dorothy “Dodie” Rosenberger
Sachs of O’Kelley & Sorohan Attorneys at Law LLC.

J.D. Humphries III has been actively working with Atlanta
Legal Aid for almost 30 years. J.D. has been continuously
involved with Legal Aid while elevating his practice with Stites
& Harbison PLLC Construction Service Group as an Executive
Member and serving many other community organizations like
the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Civil War Round Table,
Lawyers Club of Atlanta, Lawyers Foundation of Atlanta,
Inc., Georgia Lacrosse Foundation, Inc., and Cathedral of
St. Philip.
He started out as a Board member with the Program in the
mid-1980s and became President of the Board of Directors
in 1992. J.D. served as Atlanta Legal Aid’s Annual Campaign
Chairman from 2003 to 2006 and in 2006 he lead the
Campaign to raise over $1.5 million for the ongoing operating
needs of the Progr [K
