2014 The Legal Runaround

n Saturday, September 13, 2014, the Atlanta Bar
Association held The Legal Runaround 5K Race and
Tot Trot at John Howell Park in Virginia Highlands.
Proceeds from the race benefit the Police Scholarship Fund
of the Atlanta Bar Foundation, which awards scholarships
to children of police officers who have been disabled or
killed in the line of duty. Since the program began in 1985,
scholarship disbursements totaling $185,000 have been
awarded to 55 recipients.
New this year, race participants had the opportunity to create
teams and recruit runners to join their team. Teams took part

in a little friendly competition as they competed to raise the
most money and race for the finish line! Among the teams who
participated were the Atlanta Bar Board of Directors, Atlanta
Bar CLE Board, Emory Law Runners, Georgia Association
of Women Lawyers, Georgia State Law, Lawyer Referral,
Ogletree Deakins, SABAGA, TIP Trotters, and WakhisiDouglass. Young ones also took part in the front as they
raced to the finish line to receive their participation ribbons.
The Atlanta Bar Association and Atlanta Bar Foundation would
like to congratulate the following individuals who were winners
in their respective race category.
