privacy,
We look forward to hearing from the Honorable Amy
Totenberg, United States District Court Judge for the
Northern District of Georgia. She will speak to the Section on
October 4 at a luncheon at the Capital City Club. In addition,
the Section will join the State Bar Labor & Employment
Section to co-sponsor the ICLE Labor & Employment Law
Institute on December 6th.
The Section produces several newsletters each year.
The August newsletter discusses restraints on physician
competition, recent cases addressing the inevitable
disclosure doctrine, and how a recent Supreme Court
arbitration decision might affect recent Georgia decisions
on arbitration clauses. To read the Section’s newsletters,
go to the Atlanta Bar Association website and click on the
Section link. Then, under the Labor & Employment Section,
click on the Publications link. Thanks to Craig Cleland and
Ben Fink for past newsletters and in advance to Ellen Malow
for future ones.

Marshall. At the end of the luncheon, Cory Barker turned
over the Chair’s gavel to Ian Smith, and Ian thanked Cory
for his leadership.
The members of the board for 2013-2014 include Ben Fink
(Vice Chair/Chair Elect), Craig Cleland (Secretary/Treasurer),
Cory Barker (Immediate Past Chair), Peggy Brockington, Dan

T
he Labor and Employment Section provides updates
and insights for employment lawyers as well as opportunities to spend time with other lawyers with
similar backgrounds and interests. Generally, the Section
offers two luncheons with informative speakers each year,
plus a seminar on advanced employment law. The Section also provides a newsletter to make sure its members
stay current on issues and occurrences that might impact
their practices. We also offer opportunities to network and
relax together, through happy hours or pro bono opportunities.
