SECTION UPDATE INTERNATIONAL LAW As Chair of the newly reactivated International Law Section of the Atlanta Bar, I am excited to reinvigo- rate this group with our passionate members. The international legal and business communities are thriving in Atlanta and the surrounding area, and we are thrilled with the slate of events and programs we will be hosting, or co-hosting with other active orga- nizations, in the upcoming year. As a first generation American with parents from Sweden and Norway, and as the Honorary Consul for both countries, I am deeply aware of the current international de- velopments in Atlanta and surrounding areas, and am honored to lead this group of attorneys who are also passionate about the international community. I began my legal career began working in-house at Exxon-Mobil Corporation’s Texas headquarters. That exposure to a global enterprise was the genesis of my interest in the international business commu- nity and the work I have been doing as a principal at Bodker, Ramsey, Andrews, Winograd & Wildstein now for 30 years. I couldn’t ask for a better or more supportive group of colleagues. In addition to my legal practice, I have occupied roles with various international non-profit orga- 38 November 2018 nizations, including serving as former chair and current board member of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce of Georgia. The International Law Section is currently seeking to establish relationships and alliances with vari- ous other sections of the Atlanta Bar, the Georgia Bar, and other bar associations and affinity groups that are tied to the broader international legal and business community in Atlanta, and I encourage your input and ideas. We are also looking for sec- tion and event sponsors, so please let me know if you or someone you know would be interested in discussing further. With your support and involve- ment, I look forward to contributing to and learning from our internationally diverse and fascinating community! Tom Rosseland [email protected]
