ATLANTA BAR ASSOCIATION &
ATLANTA BAR FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS
From the Board
We asked the Atlanta Bar and Atlanta Bar Foun-
dation Board: How do you show gratitude to the
unsung heroes in your life?"
Atlanta Bar Association Board of Directors
My mother was a liberal democrat; my father
a conservative independent. Every dinner
had a healthy “discussion”. Both passed in
1997, but I thank them silently every time I
hear a civil discussion on the news, which
unfortunately is not often.
Steve LaBriola,
Fellows LaBriola LLP
Our son Michael is named after my mater-
nal great-grandfather Michael Sheridan. He
served in World War I. Although he passed
away well-before my little Michael came into
our lives, we are still grateful for the sacrifices he made
for our family and country. We know that over time this
generation may fade from memory and become those
unsung heroes, but we hope to keep the memories of
Michael Sheridan with us by singing one of his favorite Irish
songs “Danny Boy” before we go to sleep and keeping
a picture of him in his Army uniform in our room.

I try to be respectful of everyone with whom
I interact.

How do I show such gratitude? Not nearly
enough!
