SECTION UPDATE Save the Dates  BANKRUPTCY Opening Reception*, Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at By M. Regina Thomas United States Bankruptcy Court, NDGA [email protected] Georgia State College of Law.  The Bankruptcy Section of the Atlanta Bar is proud to receive the 2016 Community Service Award presented by the Atlanta Bar Association at its Celebrating Service awards luncheon on October 21, 2016. The section was recognized for its “collaborative work with legal aid organizations, as well as local law schools, in pro bono service to those in the bankruptcy system who may not have the support they need.” Section members are encouraged to get involved in one or more of the section’s service opportunities:  Adversary Proceeding Project  Credit Abuse and Resistance Education (CARE)  Georgia State University College of Law Bankruptcy Assistance & Practice Program (BAPP)  Low Income Creditor Assistance Project (LICAP)  The Reaffirmation Project Information on all of these programs is available on the Bankruptcy Section’s website. The Bankruptcy Section hosted its annual fall social on October 13th at Fado’s Buckhead.
