On Saturday, April 28, 2018, the Atlanta Bar joined fellow bar associations at Hammond Park for A Taste of MBLC, the 6th Annual Diversity Celebration and Cook- Off Competition of the Multi-Bar Leadership Council. This year’ s theme was“ Battle of the Peaches,” with representatives from MBLC’ s sixteen local associations showcasing their culinary talents with a variety of peach dishes. Top honors in the entrée category went to the Gate City Bar Association for its salmon, tiger shrimp and peach salsa dish, while the Atlanta Bar placed second with a peach-brandy glazed pork chop and peach, basil and goat cheese salad. The Georgia Hispanic Bar Association’ s peach and seafood ceviche earned first-prize for appetizers, and the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association’ s fresh Belgian waffles topped with homemade peach ice cream was the winning dessert.
The Cook-Off is a free familyfriendly event held each spring by the Multi-Bar Leadership Council. The MBLC was founded in 2001 by then-Atlanta Bar Association President Seth Kirschenbaum with the goal of fostering relationships between its member bar associations.
