T
he Bankruptcy Section breakfast series presentation
on April 21, 2015, featuring feature Susan R. SherrillBeard and David W. Baddley, Senior Trial Counsel/
Bankruptcy, Atlanta Regional Office of the U.S. Securities and
Exchange Commission, was enjoyed by over 30 members.
The speakers discussed the SEC’s role as a creditor and
statutory party-in-interest in bankruptcy cases. Our thanks
to board member, Jeffrey Cavender, and Troutman Sanders
for hosting the event.
It’s time to register for the annual David Pollard Award
Luncheon Spring Bankruptcy CLE program, which will
take place on May 14, 2015 at the Capital City Club. The
CLE program will feature Dean Robert A Schapiro (Emory
University School of Law), Nancy J. Whaley (Standing
Chapter 12 and 13 Trustee) and Rachel L. Lerman (Barnes
& Thornburg, LLP), who will discuss the bankruptcy cases
pending before the Supreme Court this term. Following the
CLE program, Karin Fagin White of Cohen Pollack Merlin &
Small, PC will receive the prestigious Pollard Award. Ms.
Fagin will be introduced by her longtime partner, Gus H. Small,
who received the Pollard award in 2008. For more information,

Congratulations to board member, and McCalla Raymer,
LLC partner, Summer Chandler, who received a great honor
at the recent ABI Spring Meeting in Washington, DC. The
Bankruptcy Litigation Section of the ABI, of which Summer is
co-chair, received the Committee of the Year Award – topping
17 other ABI committees. Congratulations, Summer!
