fter selling out Variety Playhouse in past years,
LawJam is returning for its triumphant fourth
consecutive year to showcase Atlanta lawyers’
musical talents. LawJam is an exciting band competition
featuring seven outstanding bands, all competing for the
coveted Winner and Best Original Song awards. Each
band includes at least one or more lawyer-musicians or
vocalists, and the proceeds from the event support pro bono
legal services and Atlanta Bar youth programs, such as the
Summer Law Internship and Minority & Diversity Clerkship
programs.
LawJam 2013 will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 7:00
p.m. at Variety Playhouse. Each band has been chosen for
its talent and unique musical style, so you will hear everything
from classic rock to rhythm & blues to country infused music
- covers, originals and more! Your votes account for 50%
of the scores (the judges’ scores, the other 50%), so come
early and vote often! For a quick glimpse from last year,

Presents (voted best new music venue by Atlanta Magazine)
and owner of the former Eddie’s Attic in Decatur; and The
Honorable John J. Ellington, Chief Judge, Court of Appeals
of Georgia, who brings his well-known wisdom and wit to the
LawJam bench this year.
The co-emcees are Bert T. Reeves, Turner Bachman &
Garrett LLC, who created the now-legendary role of LawJam
emcee, and Lisa F. Moore, The Moore Firm LLC and Georgia
Lawyers for the Arts, who joins Bert on stage after serving
in past years as a stellar LawJam judge.
As in previous years, many talented bands applied to perform
at LawJam, but only seven could be selected. We are excited
to announce the seven bands:
