Past and Present
The identity of the Foundation has always been tied to its works . The better the events , the better the connection between the Atlanta Bar community and the Foundation . For a number of years , the Foundation hosted a successful Summer event called Law Jam , in which bands featuring one or more lawyers competed for various prizes . As interests in events changed , so have the Foundation ’ s events . LawJam became the End of Summer Party , featuring a wellloved theme or tribute band . A few years later , the board decided to take the message of the Foundation directly to the Atlanta Bar community .
“ The Foundation is meant to be an important part of the Atlanta Bar . We hope that all members of the Atlanta Bar Association will start to view the Foundation as what the Atlanta Bar does to give back to the community ,” says Alan G . Poole ( Troutman Pepper ) and head of the Foundation ’ s current awareness campaign .
In the coming bar year , the Foundation aims to establish liaisons with each Section to foster relationships directly with the most active members of the Atlanta Bar and find ways to add to the mission of the Foundation as well as each Section . “ At each fundraiser last year , we saw two consistent things . One , folks don ’ t know about the Foundation . Two , when those folks hear about the Foundation , they tend to be interested and excited to help forward its mission . We hope to build on last year ’ s success , especially now that getting together is looking a bit more normal ,” said Poole .
“ The Foundation board is already working on a number of awareness campaigns and fundraisers for the 2022-2023 board year ,” says board member Dr . Megan T . Hodgkiss ( Hodgkiss Consulting LLP ). “ Please keep an eye on the Atlanta Bar calendar . We would love to see you at an upcoming event !”
