In the Capital Defender Clinic,
students assist capital defender
attorneys in their representation
of individuals facing the death
penalty to build factual narratives
and legal cases that may lead to
successful appeals of death penalty
sentences. The Landlord-Tenant
Mediation Clinic gives students
training and certification as regis-
tered neutrals. They mediate dip-
sutes routinely handled in State
and Magistrate courts, particu-
larly focusing on small claim issues
such as disputes between landlords
and tenants, neighbors, consum-
ers and businesses, and creditors
and debtors. Lastly, the Olmstead
Disability Rights Clinic, taught in
partnership with the Atlanta Legal
Aid Society’s Disability Integration
Project, focuses on advocacy re-
lated to the U.S. Supreme Court’s
decision in Olmstead v. L.C. (1999).
