atlanta council of Younger Lawyers (acYL)

ver the past few months, the acYl has been working
concurrently with the Atlanta Bar Association (or, as
we like to call it, the “big bar”) in making a renewed
effort to increase our outreach to local attorneys and, by way
of this effort, increase our respective membership ranks.
While the acYl has utilized several strategies to achieve
this goal, one of the more successful programs has been
the acYl’s adoption of the big bar’s 100% club.
as many of you may already know, the “big bar’s” 100%
Club recognizes those law firms and organizations that
demonstrate a special commitment to the advancement of

the legal profession and the betterment of our community. to
be a member of this select group, a firm or legal organization
must agree to have each of its attorneys be registered as
members of the Atlanta Bar Association. similarly, to be a
member of the ACYL’s 100% Club, a firm or legal organization
must agree to have each of its attorneys who qualify for
membership in the acYl register to join the section.
my fellow acYl board members and i felt and continue to
feel that this proposition is beneficial not only to the firms
that participate, but also (and possibly more importantly)
to the younger attorneys who join the acYl as a result of
