The 23rd Annual Woman of Achievement Award Luncheon
O n June 1 , 2023 , the Women in the Profession Section hosted the 23rd Annual Woman of Achievement Award Luncheon at Capital City Club . This year ’ s distinguished Award Recipient is Michelle Urbani Wallace ( Advantage Law Firm ).
The Outstanding Woman in the Professions Achievement Award is conferred each year by WIP on an attorney who has made significant contributions in furthering the interests of women in the profession ; demonstrated involvement in activities which assist women in the Metropolitan Atlanta community ; involvement in professional organizations which assist in promoting and empowering women in the profession ; and significant professional achievements .
Urbani Wallace has served as an active board member for the Section for several years . In 2022 , while acting as the Secretary of the Section , she became a solo practitioner / female business owner all and welcomed her first child . Urbani Wallace opened Advantage Law Firm , a business law practice , following her impressive experience In-House with : Association County Commissioners of Georgia and its corporate boards and trusts ; McKesson Corporation , General Counsel Organization ; State Road and Tollway Authority , Legal Unit ; Hon . M . Yvette Miller ( Georgia Court of Appeals ); Georgia Tech , Office of Legal Affairs and Risk Management ; State of Georgia Office of the Attorney General , Commercial Transactions and Litigation Division ; Hon . Howard Simms ( Superior Court of Macon-Bibb County ); the U . S . Department of Education , Office for Civil Rights ; Associate Dean Sarah Gerwig-Moore ( Mercer Law ); and the Center for Excellence in Higher Education Law and Policy , Stetson Law .
Urbani Wallace earned her Juris Doctor from Mercer University Walter F . George School of Law , and Bachelor of Arts in History and Secondary Education Certification from University of Michigan .
Regarding her nomination , Urbani Wallace is “ an involved professional woman , a woman who will say your name in a room full of opportunities , a mom , a successful solo practitioner , and a woman lawyer who has actively contributed to the Women in
