Chief Justice John Roberts appointed Judge Diehl to the
judicial panel charged with reviewing financial disclosures
required annually of federal judges. Judge Diehl has been a
trustee of Canisius College, on the Board of Visitors at Emory
(where she has taught bankruptcy in the law school), and
was instrumental in establishing an endowed scholarship
for women leaders at St. Mary’s College at Notre Dame. She
environment has not changed radically since then. In her
remarks Judge Diehl stated that we all possess the ability to
bring about change. It just takes some thought. “If you want
someone to write an article, ask a woman,” she proposed.
“If you need someone to fill a leadership position, ask a
woman. If you need speakers for presentations, ask women.”
The Women in the Profession section is dedicated to fur-
thering the practice and perception of law, with a focus
on issues unique to women in the practice. Each year,
WIP presents its “Outstanding Woman in the Profession”
achievement award to an attorney in good standing who has
made meaningful contributions in furthering the interests
of women in the profession, and who is involved in activities
which assist women in the metro Atlanta community. For

in the Profession Section page at atlantabar.org.
