LAWYER REFERRAL and INFORMATION SERVICE LRIS BOARD CHANGES As the new year starts for Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS), Laurie Robbins will serve as the Chair for 2016-2017. Laurie Robbins was raised in Virginia and South Carolina. She graduated from UGA with a degree in Sociology, received a JD from the University of South Carolina, and an LLM-Taxation from Emory University. Laurie has been a LRIS panel member since 2002. She has been a Board member since 2013 and is committed to the success of LRIS. She practices personal injury and workers’ compensation and her office is in Sandy Springs. As new Chair, Laurie Robbins looks forward to continuing the wonderful work of LRIS. The Immediate Past Chair, Celia Sunne set a very high standard. Under Celia’s leadership, LRIS received the Atlanta Bar Association’s Distinguished Service Award at the annual meeting in May. LRIS last year provided the largest amount of grants in the organization’s history and Celia Sunne was instrumental in making the grants a reality. Thank you Celia! And, thank you for your service to the Board Members whose terms have expired, David Bryman and Ronald Kaplan. They were both wonderful leaders for LRIS. Returning Board Members are Robert E. Turner, Honorable Kimberly Esmond Adams, Robert Hassett, Joseph H. Rosen and William H. Thomas, Jr. We welcome the following new Board Members Shelly Ellerhorst, Harold E. Franklin Jr. and S. Wade Malone. The LRIS Ex-Officio Members are Celia T. Sunne, James D. Blithch IV and Margaret H. Vath.
