Huestis Huestis Law, LLC [email protected] C ongratulations on a job well done to Beth Rogers of the Rogers Law Offices, the outgoing Chair of the Solo Practitioner/Small Firm Section! During Beth’s time as our Chair from 2014 to 2015, the SPSF Section maintained its aggressive slate of monthly breakfasts at The Buckhead Club and monthly lunches at Gordon Biersch. Finding interesting, engaging and compelling speakers and topics for more than twenty meetings is no easy task. (Indeed, it feels downright daunting to me at the moment!) But, Beth and her indefatigable husband and the firms marketing director, Scott Rogers, handled the task with remarkable proficiency. The SPSF Section enjoyed topics ranging from “Selling & Communication Skills for Lawyers” by Atlanta celebrity writer and consultant, Joey Asher, to “Dressing Your Professional Best” by fashion guru Lori Wynne, and much, much more. Our year is off to a great start with our co-sponsorship of the Atlanta Bar Summer Law Internship Program and the Kick-Off Breakfast, which took place on June 19, as well as our cosponsorship of LawJam 2015: 6th Annual Battle of the Atlanta Lawyer Bands, which was help on June 27, 2015. Thanks again to Beth Rogers and for all those who made 2014-2015 such a success. On behalf of the SPSF Board, we look forward to another great year at the SPSF Section, aka “Atlanta’s Largest Law Firm.” In addition to excellent speakers and topics, in 2014 and 2015, the SPSF membership enjoyed several collegial get-togethers, such as the Atlanta Bar Beer and Bites Social at 5 Seasons Brewing Westside, as well as a night of bowling at The Painted Pin, an upscale boutique bar and entertainment venue.
