New Section Coordinator Announced
Karen English has joined the staff of the Atlanta Bar Association as the new Sections
Coordinator. Karen replaces the accomplished and tenured Sections Director, Tanya
Wyndham, who is now pursuing her long term goal of working in worship ministry.
Karen, who has over 13 years of experience with nonprofits and associations, recently
served as Executive Director of the American Institute of Architects, Orlando Chapter.
Like the Atlanta Bar, AIA was divided into specialty groups within a larger organization.
“Karen’s experience as the leader of a multi-faceted service organization made her a
quality candidate to assume the important Sections Coordinator role. She has a measured
and thoughtful approach to her work, which I know will serve her and the Association
well”, shared Atlanta Bar Executive Director Terri Beck.
Karen believes that her biggest challenge will be “making sure each Section feels as if they are the only one. I am
up for the challenge and look forward to utilizing my experience and expertise in supporting the Sections and their
members as they carry out their work. Everyone has been so kind in welcoming me to the organization and making
me feel a part of the Atlanta Bar team.”
Born in a military family, Karen lived In Hawaii during her formative high school years where she was exposed to a
variety of cultures which she feels was influential in shaping her life outlook. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling
with her husband, attending music festivals and staying in shape through Zumba workouts.
