Where were you on the hottest day Atlanta has ever had, June 30, 2012? The Multi Bar Leadership
Council (MBLC) was hosting its first of what we hope will be many “Cook-offs”. Folks were there
from most of the member organizations, including the Atlanta Bar Association, Georgia Asian
Pacific American Bar Association, Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, Georgia Association
of Black Women Attorneys, Georgia Hispanic Bar Association, Gate City Bar Association, North
Fulton Bar Association, Sandy Springs Bar Association, South Asian Bar Association of Georgia,
State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division and Stonewall Bar Association. Dawn Jones did
her usual best orchestrating the event (i.e, herding the cats). Fabulous and varied foods were
prepared and served by the attendees and shared with everyone else. The cook-off was judged
by Justice Carol Hunstein, Judge Anne Barnes, Judge Gail Tusan, Judge Dax Lopez, and
the founder of MBLC, Seth Kirschenbaum. Winners were: 1st Place - Georgia Hispanic Bar
Association, 2nd Place - Stonewall Bar Association and 3rd Place - North Fulton Bar Association.
In spite of the searing heat, a great time was shared by all. I want to thank and praise all who
attended and encourage many more to attend next year!
