Section Engagement
on the Atlanta Bar Website
T
he Atlanta Bar’s Sections are often referred to as the
life of the organization. Last year, our 22 Sections
hosted a total of 186 events, including 94 breakfasts,
35 lunches, 9 evening events, 73 CLE programs, 25 social
networking events, 12 pro bono activities and 11 community
service programs. Due to the numerous and exciting
activities of our Sections, it should come as no surprise that
improved Section website functionality was at the top of our
list of requirements when researching website providers for
our recent migration.
The new website platform allows each Section to host
a customized calendar of events, searchable Section
directory, multiple forum threads and topics, Section blog,
photo gallery and more. Members can upload their own
photos from events and comment on posts and images. All
of these enhancements and benefits allow you to engage
with members more easily and efficiently.
Directory
Access your Section directory by clicking Group Directory on
the top left of your Section page. Hover over each Member’s
name to get a quick view with photo, contact info and quick
links to connect and message members. Customize your
search by clicking the Start New Search icon. Filter results
by zip code, practice area, name, firm or any other criteria
by typing in the search box (be sure to select your Section
name in the group drop down list.)
Blogs
more. Viewers can comment on posts and share information
on social networking sites. Search all blog posts for specific
content by typing criteria in Search all Posts.
Forum
Sections can share community service opportunities,
surveys, job vacancies, etc. on the Section forum. Submit
quick replies, share on social media and subscribe to instant
updates.
Calendar
View upcoming Section events at a glance with the Upcoming
Events tool listed on the right side of your Section page. Get
a comprehensive list of Section sponsored events, relevant
teleseminars and webcasts by clicking the calendar icon on
the top right navigation of your Section page.
