The Atlanta Bar Association's Centennial Presiden
M. Talmadge passed the gavel to Melvin K. Westm
in April, 1988. The pace of activity accelerate
1980s. When federal funds for indigent legal
were cut early in the 1980s, the Bar stepped in
funds for the Atlanta Legal Aid Society. What b
an emergency campaign in 1982 has become
annual project.
