The New Year begins with several new board members
- all active and longtime volunteers – who join the Board
of Directors in February. We are excited to have James
Kitces from Robbins Kaplan, Jennifer Meyerowitz of Epiq
Systems, Erik Olson from The Olson Firm and Laurance
Warco of Sutherland join the Board of Directors in leadership
capacities.
A TIP volunteer since 2011, James Kitces’ area of legal
expertise focuses on negligent inspection law and
representing large business insurers in first party coverage
and industrial subrogation claims. His enthusiasm for pro
bono work and child advocacy first began as a law student
representing abused and neglected children in Austin, Texas
and he has continued to demonstrate a strong commitment
to serving the community through legal service and currently
serves as the pro bono coordinator for Robbins Kaplan.
James, who has also worked with the Atlanta Volunteer
Lawyers Foundation, Atlanta Legal Aid, and other pro bono
organizations adds, “It’s impossible not to be inspired by
the work that TIP has done over the last 20-plus years. I
believe that the success of our society begins at home and,
by extension, school. I am enthusiastic about joining the
Board and hope to bring new ideas to further the mission of
this wonderful organization.”
Jennifer Meyerowitz began working with TIP in 1995 before
entering law school at Emory University and continued as a
dedicated volunteer during her ten years with the Bankruptcy,
Reorganizations and Workouts Practice Group of Alston &
Bird, LLP. She was also honored as TIP’s Volunteer of the
Year in 2009 for her unmatched dedication to and advocacy
for, her numerous clients.
