Elder Law Section Update

“
rofessionalism” is defined in The Oxford English
Dictionary as “The competence or skill expected of
a professional.” The Elder Law Section strives each
year to enhance the competence and skill of its members by
providing multiple opportunities for continuing education and
networking among those attorneys and other professionals
who practice in the area of elder law and related fields.
For example, on January 16, 2013, we heard from nationally
renowned Veterans Benefits Expert Victoria L. Collier, Esq.
at our monthly section breakfast. Ms. Collier briefed the
group regarding updates on VA Aid & Attendance Benefits
while we busily took notes. We truly appreciated her
willingness to share the lessons learned from her extensive
experience in dealing with the Veterans Administration.
Our networking opportunities continued as the section cosponsored a wine tasting social with the Solo Practitioner/
Small Firm Section and the Tax Law Section on January 17,
