justice that inspired him to become a lawyer. His remarks finished with a quiet call to action that led to a standing ovation.
Cathy O’ Neil was introduced by her husband Justice David Nahmias who shared the history of her efforts to start the Bard Show back in 1998. O’ Neil has since written, choreographed, and directed eight of the twelve all-lawyer musical theatre productions which have served as the Atlanta Bar Foundation’ s biggest fundraiser. The luncheon included a rousing performance of“ Somebody to Blame,” featuring soloists Courtney McBurney and Rick McMurtry, that was a crowd-pleasing number from A Courthouse Line XII: Mock the Vote, this year’ s Bard Show. In her remarks, which also drew a standing ovation, O’ Neil talked about the importance of professional associations and friendships that the Bard Show cultivates.
The event was well attended by members of the Atlanta Bar and the judiciary. Also in attendance was the former Acting Attorney General of the United States, Sally Yates, a past recipient of a Leadership Award.
