IN THE PROFESSION bank charges for international transactions . Many banks now waive the international transaction fees . Most American credit cards are widely accepted in Barcelona . So , carrying a lot of cash or traveler ’ s checks is no longer necessary . Some people buy euros before leaving the States , which usually carries higher fees . I prefer to come home from every European trip with enough euros to get me through at least one day on my next European trip . Then , since my bank does not charge ATM transaction fees , I withdraw euros as needed once I ’ m in Europe .
Travel went smoothly for most people . Fortunately , many flew non-stop between Barcelona and Atlanta . Some people with layovers , however , met with problems . One couple only had one hour to change planes in Paris , so they ran through the airport . Another family missed their plane and had to wait a day for the next Barcelona flight . Some people came from other destinations in Spain or Europe , arriving in Barcelona by train . This , of course , is an exciting and interesting way to get around Europe .
Even with filed leaves of absences , many people still had work to do . Working while traveling is much easier in the 21st century than when I first started travelling . With the internet , clouds and mobile phones , our law practices can now travel with us . International phone plans make accessing the internet , e-mails , texts , and phone calls much easier and cheaper . Internet based apps such as WhatsApp or Telegram are also popular tools . Thus , registrants-maintained contact with their offices or clients as needed . However , because of the six-hour time difference between Barcelona and Georgia , some people found themselves working after dinner , late into the evening .

In 2023 , I will have more CLE credits to fulfill . I ’ m so looking forward to making those travel plans !
