Pacer Pacer Law LLC [email protected] • October breakfast meeting included a panel of Probate Court judges from Rockdale, Gwinnett and DeKalb Counties discussing their preferences regarding a number of probate matters. •Professor Sam Donaldson spoke to our Section on Federal Tax update in October. • Natalie King and Jonathan Hawkins discussed is- sues associated with law firm changes, buyouts and closing down a practice at our November breakfast. • Our annual Estate Planning Forum in November brought Professor Christopher Hoyt, speaking on the intersection of charitable planning and retire- ment accounts and the climate for tax change in Washington DC. • December’s breakfast meeting brought Kim Martin, providing a special needs triage presentation for estate planning lawyers. • January’s breakfast brought our members an update on heirs property in Georgia by Skipper StipeMass and Joann Johnson of the Georgia Heirs Property Law Center. • On February 1, the Estate Planning and Probate Section will join with the Elder Law Section and FPA of Georgia to provide an extended panel discussion on Planning Through the Decades of Life. • February’s breakfast meeting will discuss the new tax law as it affects individuals, estates and trusts, with Murray Saylor and Ed Rappaport as speakers.
