“ Hemanth ' s warmth and kindness was so affirming and healing . He was always an advocate for our work , and we kept trying to get together to create dialogues on breaking stigma around mental health in the South Asian community . I have great memories of him at our last in-person fundraiser with a big check from GAPABA . He had pictures taken with my family and my co-workers with that big check . He loved showing up for the community and I know we all miss his loving support .”
- Aparna Bhattacharyya Executive Director at Raksha
“ I remember that Hemanth was often the prosecutor who tried the most jury trials in a given year at the DeKalb Solicitor General ’ s Office . So much so , that not only did he receive a plaque for his accomplishments , but the award itself came to be known as “ the Diggy Award .” When I saw the award hanging in our office it inspired me to try more cases and become a master at my craft , but more importantly it reinforced my belief that I could both be an absolute force in the courtroom while always being kind , courteous , humble , and funny with everyone I came in contact with , in the courthouse , from opposing counsel to defendants to the cleaning crew . Because that is exactly how Hemanth was with everyone he met .”
