Once your food is prepared , you will receive it in a to-go container ; however , seating is still available on the porch and the additional tables in the parking lot . Fortunately , even pre-COVID , Taqueria del Sol actively invested in outside seating with a large covered porch . Even though the food is togo , you can still enjoy the full Taqueria del Sol experience , free refills and everything .
Food The food at Taqueria del Sol is phenomenal and reasonably priced . Truly , everything is delicious . You can never go wrong starting your meal with a salsa trio , guacamole , or cheese dip . From there , you can pretty much design your own meal .
For example , enchiladas can be made to your liking . First , pick a filing : cheese , brisket , roasted chicken , refried beans , or carnitas pork . Next , pick your sauce : pork green chili , beef red chili , lemon cream , salsa frita ( vegetarian ), or salsa verde ( vegetarian ). For the most part , I order a chicken enchilada with red chili sauce . The lemon cream sauce looks like cheese , but it really does taste like lemon . When my mother ate the pork green chili , she thought it was really spicy . Take from that what you will . I have been told that most people order two enchiladas for dinner , but I have always found one enchilada to be more than enough .
The tacos are also always a great option . There are six different kinds . Each is simple but elegant . You can mix and match your favorite two or three different types of tacos . There is the Memphis , which I know this will surprise you , is made with smoked pork along with jalapeño coleslaw , and BBQ sauce . The Brisket includes beef brisket and pico de gallo . The Fried Chicken , as expected , has fried chicken . The Carnita taco is made of twice cooked pork with salsa frita . The Fish taco is comprised of fried tilapia , tartar sauce , and jalapeños . The Veggie Bean includes refried beans , queso blanco , and roasted tomatillo salsa .
Whether you pick enchiladas or tacos , you can finish your meal with one of their sides : Mexican rice , veggie refried beans , rice and refried beans combo , turnip greens , or jalapeño coleslaw . With all these options , there is no excuse for you not to be completely satisfied when you leave .
Customer Service I will always eat at a restaurant with good food , but I will patronize a restaurant with good customer service . As I said , the staff and customer service at Taqueria del Sol is excellent . When my sister visited from Tennessee last December , Taqueria del Sol bought our meal simply to show their appreciation of my loyalty . They won my heart with that gesture .
