I have been making it work by using the phone and video conferencing like everyone else , while also attending court in person on a limited basis . Socially , I have group of friends that did a regular outdoor happy hour . Also , I have enjoyed running in my neighborhood and local trails around Atlanta .

Any time we hear the ice cream truck in the neighborhood , we go running out of the house to get ice cream . We have chased it down the street and even gotten in the car to follow it around our neighborhood . This has been a fun , new tradition in our house .

My family and I are continuing to enjoy the national and state parks . We began our journey back in March hiking the Palisades at the Chattahoochee River . Over the past six months , we ventured to the Indian caves near Ford Island and explored the ruins at Paper Mill . We have also climbed Kennesaw and Arabia Mountains , and , most recently , we hiked the bluffs at Sweetwater Creek . While we certainly hope that the pandemic will come to a close , we are very thankful for the moments we have shared as a family . We will strive to continue to remain positive , stay strong , and appreciate the beauty of nature . ( Image 1 )

My family and I went hiking around the many waterfalls of East Tennessee . The outdoors were refreshing and invigorating for a desk-strapped lawyer like myself . It was also nice to learn that I can still hike faster than my 69-year-old father , though I will admit that he held his own . I am thankful for the extra time I was able to spend with my family .
