Gunshow
Women in the Profession Section
Perhaps you have heard great things
about Kevin Gillespie’s restaurant,
Gunshow, but have not yet made the
trip. Or perhaps you are a little intimi-
dated by the description of the res-
taurant as a cross between Brazilian
churrascaria-style dining and Chinese
dim sum. In any event, you need to grab
some friends, co-workers, or clients
and head down to Gunshow because
it is a culinary experience you will not
soon forget!
a can’t miss restaurant on the Atlanta
food scene. Besides a cult-like local
following, Gunshow and its chefs have
received numerous awards including
James Beard nominations and being
named among Eater’s 38 Essential Res-

Similarly, cocktail conductor Mercedes
O’Brien slings inventive cocktails off her
rolling cocktail cart, which also comes
tableside.
There is no theme or singular style
to the food at Gunshow. Instead Ex-
ecutive Chef Joey Ward tries to curate
the constantly changing menu into an
exciting experience more akin to an
evening spent at the symphony or at
an art gallery opening - where all five
senses are engaged and stimulated at
once. Consequently, it is not unusual
for a fois gras terrine to be followed
by a Vietnamese take on chicken and
waffles, all with the raucous background
of the open kitchen, loud music, and
nearby diners filling the air.
The incredible food, exciting beverage
program, and interaction between chefs
and diners makes Gunshow unique and
