Law Enforcement Appreciation

T

he Interagency Law Enforcement Appreciation and
Memorial Service was held at Woodruff Park on May
14, 2014 and gathered together civic and government
leaders, along with representatives and officers from public
safety agencies who serve Downtown Atlanta. Wade
Watson III, Atlanta Bar Immediate Past President and
William deGolian, Atlanta Bar Foundation representative,
shared comments on the history and significance of the
Police Memorial. Sally Yates, United States Attorney,

Northern District of Georgia also gave words of inspiration.
A wreath was solemnly laid at the site of the Police
Memorial, dedicated by the Atlanta Bar Association in 1980,
to recognize those officers who have fallen in the line of
duty. Bagpipes serenaded the wreath laying ceremony with
Amazing Grace.
The Interagency Law Enforcement (ILE) partnership is
comprised of 11 different agencies who work in collaboration
