How are you relaxing, creating, or celebrating during this time of social distancing?

Two new things in my life
are helping me survive the
lockdown: virtual cocktail
parties with friends via the
Houseparty app; and Peloton.
I am also not going to fit in
any of my clothes because all
I do is eat all day!

Over the past couple of months, my family and I have used these
challenging times to develop an even greater appreciation for nature
and the outdoors. One of our favorite places to go is the Chattahoochee
River. These times together have truly allowed us to take a break from
technology, relax in the fresh air, and, most importantly, grow as a little
family. We sure are looking forward to getting back to normal, but always
want to make sure we incorporate these new routines in the future, too.

This is what’s in the
background for Zoom
meetings in my home office
(i.e., my dining room).
My family and I have gotten
along by training and playing
with the new puppy.

I relax for a few more minutes in the morning by trading dressing up
for a few more moments to breath using the Calm app. Innovating
every-night-date-night? We work on puzzles. I mistakenly picked
up the last puzzle at Target (modern art of Elvis), which we are
convinced, contains only shades of orange. We’ve been
making the most of virtual happy hours that allow us to
use quarantining to catch up with old friends near and far.
We’ve celebrated health and the privilege of education and
full-time employment by trying new restaurants for take-
out and cooking at home.
I hibernate by watching sitcoms on
Netflix/Hulu (we’re in a Community
and a Cheers phase at the moment) with
my wife, kids, and occasionally an adult
beverage (or two). We also play games
of H-O-R-S-E, 21, Gotcha, and other
hoop-related games in the driveway with
the family. And I don’t think I’ve done much celebrating just yet, but it
would probably involve the aforementioned adult beverage (or two).
