SECTION UPDATE
JUDICIAL
By Hon. Maria Golick
Chief Judge, State Court of Cobb County
Spring Social
Earlier this year the Judicial Section was saddened
to lose one of our Board Members who passed away
unexpectedly, the Honorable Willie Lovett, Jr. of the
Juvenile Court of Fulton County. Judge Lovett served
on the Juvenile Court since 2013 and was known for
his keen intellect and for his commitment to youth.
On Thursday May 4th the Judicial Section will be
honoring Judge Lovett as well as The Honorable
Stephanie Manis at its annual awards luncheon at
the Commerce Club. Each year, the Judicial Section
awards The Romae Turner Powell Judicial Service
Award to a judge who has made outstanding con-
tributions to the Judiciary. Presenting introductory
remarks regarding our two recipients will be U.S.
District Court Judge Mark Cohen and Chief Judge
Bradley Boyd of the Fulton Juvenile Court. This year’s
luncheon is sponsored by the Litigation and Criminal
Law Sections. We invite you to join us in recognizing
the public service of these two dedicated jurists.
