MBLC COOK OFF
The Multi Bar Leadership Council (MBLC) held its
fifth annual Taste of Diversity Cook Off competi-
tion at Grant Park on Saturday, April 22, 2017 which
celebrated this year’s theme: Several Dishes, One
Meal, One Community. Ten member bar associa-
tions submitted a dish in the category of appetizer,
entrée or dessert. Judge Diane E. Bessen displayed
her refined culinary skills with a dessert submission
of Chocolate-Chocolate Chip Waffles with Lemon
Cheesecake Mousse, Mixed Berries and Strawberry
Sauce on behalf of the Atlanta Bar Association. The
dishes were presided over by Judge Asha Jackson and
Judge Alford Demsey who deemed the following
associations the winner in their respective category:
Best Appetizer—Georgia Trial Lawyers Association,
Best Entrée—Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar As-
sociation, Best Dessert—Stonewall Bar Association.
The award for Best Theme for their table went to the
Georgia Hispanic Bar Association.
The MBLC was formed in 2001 and is comprised of
eighteen local bar associations throughout metro-
politan Atlanta. The MBLC meets regularly to forge
relationships among their diverse groups by focusing
on common goals and sharing best practices with
one another.
