T
his year, WIP was proud to sponsor Wills and Advanced
Directives, one of the many great CLE programs
offered during Pro Bono March Madness. Many WIP
members were in attendance for the training. As part of the
ongoing partnership with Atlanta Legal Aid’s Cancer Legal
Initiative, WIP members will now be able to assist ALA with
preparing wills and advance directives for cancer patient
clients and other eligible ALA clients. WIP members, and
others interested, can obtain more information on this pro
bono project by visiting the WIP website.
In March, we also hosted a WIP member networking breakfast
at J. Christopher’s Midtown location. The breakfast was wellattended and provided members with a chance to mingle,
network and have coffee before starting the work day.
The threat of Snowpocalypse II required us to postpone
our planned panel
discussion program for
women law students.
However, the event is
now re-scheduled for
later in April. We have
several great panelists
presenting a program
entitled “Your Career
Compass”, to be held
at Emory University.
The panel will consist
of 4 female attorneys
from the Atlanta area,
discussing issues
facing women-and
all new lawyers-as
they look for jobs and
enter the legal field.
The program will be
followed by a social,
allowing students to
interact with panelists
a n d o t h e r W IP
members.
