The Atlanta Bar’s Lawyers League is Full Steam Ahead

M
any Atlanta lawyers reminisce about the “Good ol’
Days” when competitive sports went hand-in-hand
with cocktail parties, CLEs and other opportunities
to enjoy fellowship with other lawyers. The Atlanta Bar’s
Lawyers League has continued that spirit by offering its
members an annual spring basketball season. Headed up
by co-commissioners Joe Hoffman, Kitchens Kelley Gaynes,
P.C., and Marc Rawls, Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP, the
2015 season of the Lawyers League is off to a great start.
League invites everyone to come out and cheer for his or
her favorite team. And look out for next season’s registration,
which will open near the end of 2015.
Atlanta Bar members from varying practice areas and law
firms make up fourteen teams this year. Some of the teams
are pulled solely from one law firm while other teams are
a combined effort of various firms to put their best foot
forward. Either way, the games provide a great opportunity
to build firm comradery and meet new lawyers in the Atlanta
community. Every game includes up to three officials as
well as a scorekeeper manning the big-screen scoreboard.
Games are played on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
nights at Christ the King off Peachtree Road in Buckhead.
Although registration for this season is closed, the Lawyers
