S
pring is here, and as the weather warms and flowers
bloom, the Estate Planning Probate Section’s calendar
also blossoms with opportunities for its members to
learn, build their networks, and have fun. Our most recent
past events included a well-attended March breakfast
meeting at which Vanessa E. Goggans of Morris, Manning,
and Martin, LLP, warned us of the many pitfalls we may
encounter when working with real estate in estate planning
and probate matters, and a social on March 21, 2013, at
which our Section members got to mix and mingle with
members of the Financial Planning Association.
We have a full slate of upcoming breakfast meetings
scheduled through the end of the fiscal year, as well as a
[email protected]
luncheon meeting. Upcoming Section breakfast meetings
will include our April 10, 2013, event, where John A.
(“Jack”) Terrill, II, will help members better advise their
clients regarding asset protection issues, and our May 8
meeting, at which Brian Deutsch and Millie Baumbusch
of Gaslowitz Frankel, LLC will discuss some of the many
difficult issues surrounding guardianship matters. We will also
hold a luncheon meeting on April 24, 2013, at Villa Christina,
at which Professor Mary F. Radford of the Georgia State
University College of Law will give us an update on Georgia
fiduciary laws. Please keep an eye on the Bar’s online
calendar for more information or to register for upcoming
events. ▪
