One of the main objectives of CFSC is to prepare a
full Malaysian team to take part in the World Angling Championships organized by FIPSed which
are held every year, so far held only in Europe. There
are plans for Malaysia to host this prestigious event
in the future but for now the main aim is to set up a
team. CFSC has started to organize monthly matches
for anglers to take part in. It’s a programme for anglers to learn and experience more about coarse and
match fishing, as well as an avenue to spot potential
talented anglers who can represent the nation.
This day at Putrajaya Wetland was to brief the government agencies on how the Club and activities
would be run, including the goals for international
participation. The short but very informative session
was well received by Tourism Malaysia and Kementerian officers, even though this fishing style and
format is very new to them. Steve made a few casts
with the feeder and wagglers rod and talked a bit on
how the fishing was done and how effective this style
could be with a few quick lampams almost every
cast.
