The Asian Angler October 2014 Digital Issue - Malaysia - English | Page 121
Fortunately there are ways to tackle this
issue and rip some of those finicky fish up
and out of the cover. The lure of choice
for fishing heavy brush is a 1/4oz to 3/8oz
grass or pitching jig. The conventional
method of flipping brush usually calls for a
heavy jig but unfortunately heavy jigs fall to
the bottom at a fast rate making it difficult
for idle bass to target the lure. A lighter jig
will enable the angler to keep their lure in
the strike zone for a longer period of time.
The strike zone for a bass is usually right
in front of their face where they can easily
inhale a lure.
