The summer transition marks the point when cool air begins to mix in with the warm summer humidity. When two opposites mix together high winds tend to generate which in return churns the lake bottom and water temperature. Luckily small insects and zooplankton are easily influenced by wind current thus provoking baitfish that feed on zooplankton to follow nearby. Tiny fish such as shad and juvenile bluegill will congregate in large schools to track and feed on windblown phytoplankton and zooplankton. Heavy winds will be your guiding light while on the water, pointing out where the baitfish might be located and where to possibly find feeding bass. 117
