t was the June holidays. My friend, Glenn, and I planned for a
first light trip on Friday night. He also invited his friend, Aloysius,
to join us. It was awkward at first but soon it felt like we knew
each other for months. We arrived at first light, water was calm
and it wasn’t as crowded. We started by using hard baits and soft
plastics. 2 hours in and no takes at all. It was unusual as we normally get a fish or 2 after 2 hour. We changed locations and soon
the sky got dark. Aloysius checked his phone and said the rain is
coming. So we headed to a nearby coffee shop to wait for the rain
to pass.
