Toughness
The Penn Sargus II has a tough act to follow and it followed well. The Sargus II
comes in a tough metal shell of which can
take a beating protecting the gears and everything else inside. This rigidity allows
the gears to be kept in precise alignment
even under heavy loads.
Its rigid qualities continue towards the
tough stainless steel shaft, reel stem, and
reel foot. There is no (unfelt) flex especially at the reel stem and foot area and this is
important when battling a brute of a fish.
The solid / rigidity of the main shaft makes
cranking easier and gives the angler better
confidence during the battle.
