These little crankbaits are great for banging
up against rocks and logs where fish often
like to hang out and are notorious for their
ability to be fished in tight corners where
most cranks would get hung up and busted.
Squarebills are extremely versatile, they can
be fished around docks, rip-rap, pile-ons,
laydowns, and brushpiles. It is best to throw
a squarebill when you are positive the fish
are feeding on baitfish or other live fish prey.
Once you’ve been able to tell whether or not
the fish are feeding on baitfish your next
step is to determine what kind of baitfish the
bass are feeding on. This step is important
and plays a huge role in choosing the right
color and style of squarebill as it is for any
type of crankbait fishing. An example of this
would be to research what kind of fish species inhabit the lake you plan on fishing.
