Conclusion
In all this is overall an excellent single hook and the
only “set back” of this hook is the thick gauge which
can make it difficult to get standard split-rings into
the eye. However this is a small price to pay for the
those who need the strength the thicker gauge provides! The standard split-rings often get damaged
when trying to attach them to these strong/thicker
hooks. If the need be, the split-rings should be
changed to heavier gauge ones to match the strength
of this strong hook. It will be pointless to upgrade
the lure to stronger hooks and have the split-rings
fail.
This is possibly the strongest short-shank single
hook for lures in our market. It is well designed and
suited for our hard fighting indigenous fish species.
This toman was hooked with the 10121NPDT Mustad InLine Single Hook attached to the Halco Hamma lure.
