Some of the single hooks that are
sold in Malaysia were designed for
temperate fish, thus I find their
wire gauge/strength to be lacking.
When I first examined these new
single hooks from Mustad, I immediately noted that the hooks were
thick gauge. To test the mettle of
the metal used in the wire, I used
pliers to try and flex the hook open
and found it resisted the strain
placed on it satisfactorily.
