Colours
Underwater
One thing about water is that it absorbs light. This
simply means that the deeper one goes the darker
things get as light decreases with depth and with that
too colours get distorted and then vanishes. In scientific terms, water absorbs different wavelengths
of light. Red, orange, and yellow gets absorbed first
which means that they are the first colours to disappear the deeper we go with red being the first to go.
This is followed by darker colours such as green, blue,
etc.
Question: What happens when you use red coloured
lure (metal jig) and fish it really deep in clear waters?
Answer: The red colour disappears and the lure will
look either black to the fishes down there or they do
not see your lure. Vibration will then be of help.
