The eye of a fish is quite similar to that of us
humans in a sense that they too have cells called
cones that can see colour. Both humans and
fishes have retinas in our eyes. Within the retina
are photosensitive cells called cones and rods
that converts light into signals (somewhat like
an old film camera) and sends it to the brains.
While cones see well during the day and in colour, rods helps us see at night.
